What in the world does BAM! Tape™ have to do with body scrub? Well, if you are a DIY person like me, then it is great for making labels! Keep reading and learn how to make this simple DIY sugar scrub and create a custom label with BAM! Tape™ colored masking tape

Do you know that you can write and draw on our colored masking tape with a permanent marker? Yup, you can! I label all kinds of things with our colored tape. We use it in the kitchen a lot to label containers and left overs. This mom uses masking tape to label cords, storage boxes, ski gear…I use it everywhere! But today, we are putting it on this luxurious body scrub that is super easy to make at home. Keep reading for the simple DIY steps to make our Spicy Orange Sugar Scrub.

Simple Body Scrub Ingredients

This moisturizing body scrub is made with just a few ingredients that you may already have. I used a basic recipe of coconut oil and granulated sugar and brown sugar, (not pictured.) Then I added essential oils and stirred with a spoon. Some people prefer an electric mixer, but I like the workout!

You can use any skin safe essential oils that you prefer and make your own signature scent. Just be sure that you test the mixture on your skin before scrubbing your whole body. You can also add additional oils if you have favorites. Apricot oil is nice on the skin, or perhaps a little shea butter. Either way, start with our simple recipe to make this simple  DIY sugar scrub, and customize it any way you like.

Create a DIY Custom Label

After I combined and thouroughly stirred my ingredients, I scooped it into a container that I up cycled from a store bought scrub. One of the things that I love about DIY bodyscrub is that I can re-use the container and use less plastic!

Next I asked my daugther to make me a cute label. She is a budding artist, and she did not disappoint. I absolutely love this DIY label for our Spicy Orange Sugar Scrub. So cute!

BAM! Tape™ masking tape is writable tape, so you can use permanent marker to write, draw and create your own custome labels. When you want to remove the label, it comes off easily, so if yo make a new “flavor” of body scrub, you can easily put on a new label.

DIY Sugar Scrub Recipe

Here is the simple recipe that I used to make Spicy Orange Sugar Scrub:

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 cup solid coconut oil

2 tablespoons liquid coconut oil

2 tbsp chamomile oil

2 tbsp orange essential oil

1 tablespoon frankincense oil

Combine all ingredients in a medium sized mixing bowl.

Now give it a good long stir and work out those biceps and triceps! Or you can use an electric mixer for a smoother scrub.

Next place your sugar scrub in a container. I use plastic, because: number one, I’m up cycling one that I have, and number two, I’m a klutz and would likely drop and break a glass container in the shower.

Last of all, make yourself a label. If you have colored masking tape, then you can just pick a fun color and be creative. otherwise, you can make it with paper and put clear tape over the top.

Now wasn’t that easy? I hope that you try our recipe for Spicy Orange Body Scrub, or perhaps make your own custom blend for a DIY body scrub.
